About Matthew Dunand

Matthew Dunand spent 14 years as in-house counsel before launching Dunand Law. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Red Ventures, the PE-backed digital media and consumer marketplaces company behind Bankrate, CNET, Healthline, Lonely Planet, and The Points Guy. He headed the enterprise employment law and litigation functions, served as senior employment counsel to the CFO/COO and EVP of HR, and built the practices from a solo attorney role into managed functions handling significant matters across domestic and international jurisdictions. He also served as Interim Co-General Counsel for seven months, leading the reorganization of the legal department.
Before Red Ventures, Matt built the employment compliance and litigation infrastructure for Brighthouse Financial during its spin-off from MetLife. Earlier in his career, he litigated employment matters at the Department of the Navy, securing dismissal of 15+ matters and arguing eight to decision before the EEOC and MSPB, while advising leadership for a 14,000+ unionized workforce.
He has led employment-side legal workstreams across 15+ M&A transactions, including the multi-billion-dollar RVO Health/UnitedHealth Group joint venture, and served as internal legal lead on the CNET divestiture.
